Annejet van der Zijl is one of the Netherlands’ most famous and bestselling non-fiction authors. Her acclaimed biography of the famous Dutch writer Annie M.G. Schmidt was nominated for De Gouden Uil literature prize and others. Her internationally acclaimed book Sonny Boy (2004) sold over half a million copies in the Netherlands alone and was made into a film. Her bestselling biography of Prince Bernhard was published in 2010. An American Princess was published 2015.
